KURUMBA MALDIVES

A resort of class and sophistication:

Kurumba has long been a popular choice of resort in the Maldives for couples and families alike, boasting possibly one of the largest ranges of accommodation, activities and dining venues on offer.  Named after the coconuts that grow in abundance throughout the island, Kurumba is a popular choice with those seeking plenty of facilities, an astonishing range of restaurants and plenty of evening entertainment.  On land guests can enjoy two pools, tennis, full gym and fitness centre and the Aquum Spa.  The clear waters of the lagoon are a major attraction for many with non-motorised water sports and excellent diving in the house reef.  By night the options continue – dine on world cuisines from pizza to Indian, Japanese to Arabic!

The serenity of the resort is perfectly matched by the uncompromising luxury of its bungalows and villas:

One-hundred and eighty bungalows and villas are dotted throughout the island within verdant foliage paces from the beach.  Every one of its 180 individual villas and rooms is a symphony of good taste and glorious space, orchestrated with the harmony of polished wood floors, high timber-clad ceilings and antique-style wooden furniture.  Complemented by a walk-in dressing room and a bathroom of exquisite extravagance with sandstone tiles, a marble-sided tub and a second, outdoor art-deco shower in a private open-air patio, each bedroom comes equipped with in-room safe, private mini-bar, tea/coffee-maker, satellite television, high speed Internet connection and luxury amenities.

Dine by the moon and candles or dress for dinner and dance into the morning:

With nine different restaurants offering seven cuisines to choose from, the Kurumba Maldives is a gourmet experience like no other in the Maldives.  Enjoy an intimate candlelit dinner for two on the beach or an indulgent evening in a speciality restaurant or a grand buffet.  You are spoilt for choice.  And then you can dance the night away in the beach bar where five nights a week a band is in attendance.

Vihamana Restaurant is the delightful main restaurant at the Kurumba Maldives offering gourmet buffets for breakfast, lunch and dinner.  With a different theme buffet every night, choose from Indian, Chinese, Mexican, Lebanese and Italian to name a few.  Friday afternoons are ‘Brunch by the Seaside’ and Sunday evening a surprise thrown in every now and then.  Vihamana is always a fresh experience.  The Ocean Grill is located on the edge of the beach with an over-water deck offering a panoramic view of the Indian Ocean.  Prime cuts of beef, fresh lobster from the lobster pond are highlights of a varied menu.  It offers an eclectic selection of fine wines – ideal for a romantic candlelit dinner.

Hamakaza is the Sushi Bar and Teppenyaki counter serving a unique style of cuisine from the Land of the Rising Sun.  Enjoy Arabian Nights at the Kurumba Maldives.  Come savour the fare from the mystical Middle East.  Grand palatial décor does justice to its name, Al Qasr – The Palace.  Set with Arabic and other artefacts from the Middle East, the Al Qasr serves traditional Lebanese specialities.

Kurumba Mahal serves cuisine from the royal kitchens of North India.  Succulent tandoories, curries – some spicy, others subtle, Naan and Paratta breads and luscious desserts make for a dinner fit for a Maharaja.  Ming Court is the speciality Chinese restaurant serving oriental delicacies from the mainland.  With a soft waterfall on one side and a plant garden on another, marble tables and tasteful décor, the restaurant has a very contemporary and cosy look.  Golden Cowrie serves fine Italian cuisine in an elegant, classical setting.  It features a variety of pastas and risottos in the flavour of Tuscany and Lombardy, Sardinia and Sicily.  Select from an expansive range of sensuous, full-bodied Italian wines.  Enjoy a sinful Tiramisu too!  Bon Apetito!

Located right opposite the pool, the Neptune Coffee Shop is the laidback all-day dining restaurant at the Kurumba Maldives.  From a selection of à la carte breakfast items to international favourites and light snacks the coffee shop is the perfect place to grab a bite or a small meal.
